Controlled Parking Zones information site

Many local coucils have an agenda to extend controlled parking zones. In London, this agenda has been explicitly set by the London Mayor, Ken Livingstone.

If your council has provided a consultation which consists only of neutral, simple questions, that's great- your council is working in your best interests by actually finding out what you and your neighbours think.

If your council has provided a consulation which includes lots of information, pictures etc, and the questions are either long, complex or loaded, then you should be suspicious- Are they are really consulting, or using your money to push their politics on you?

By providing a forum for debate, and illustrating some of the pitfalls of CPZ schemes, we hope everyone in your area will make a better informed choice when faced with an option of a CPZ.

Some important questions answered in the Q&A section include:
Will a CPZ give me a reserved parking place?
Will workmen and other services be affected?
Does a parking permit entitle me to park in my road?
If I have a parking permit for my area, can I park in other areas?
Can I transfer the permit to another car?
Will the prices of the permits remain affordable?
If I change my vehicle, Will I need to re-apply for a permit?
Can visitors still visit me?
Why do CPZs spread?

Further issues will be raised in the discussion section
